Greater lift with less drag
The NX PROJECT has sufficient lift to support multiple stage diving with ease, managing to achieve this in a tightly streamlined profile.
This narrower profile reduces drag, easing your resistance and effort through the water, improving gas consumption and reducing the chance of entanglement.

Unrestricted access to valves and perfect hose routing
In an emergency situation every second counts so easy access to your valves is critical. As the NX inflator design is so compact, the upper wing size can be reduced and there is no impediment to quick and easy shutdowns.
In addition, the extra space allows for straight and tidy hose routing. Even when fully inflated the NX wing will not pressure or bend your hoses.

Stability at the surface
When you are at the surface, the majority of the wing is still underwater, providing lift. Even with several stage bottles you feel 100% safe and supported in a higher out of the water position than traditional designs. Comfort during pre-dive S-drills or waiting for your boat in a choppy sea is greatly enhanced.

Small changes can make a big difference
The simple direct connection to the wing greatly improves air flow in and out of the wing. As a result, buoyancy control is more precise. In addition, the inflator is very responsive, deflating faster than traditional designs.

An ergonomic backplate – at last!
The shape of the classic backplate was originally driven by the road sign it was cut out from, time perhaps for a change. Taking a proper look at the anatomy and structure of the human back, we have reinvented the concept.
Enlarging the upper part of the backplate achieves better weight distribution during the dive and removes load form the lumbar region. The lower plate design spreads the load equally well and allows for the optimal attachment of weight pockets and accessories.
The new NX Series back plate is more comfortable, more stable and more protective of your back than any other classic plate.

One piece harness plus full adjustability.
The security of a classic single piece harness is unrivalled, but this has meant sacrificing comfort and adjustability. The NX series harness not only keeps all the positives but also adds a level of comfort and adjustment that the most ardent DIR diver will value.
The backplate harness interface is a completely new design, made possible by the changes to the backplate. When unfastened, the shoulder straps are 20% longer than in a standard one piece making kitting up or kit removal much easier. Tightening the waist buckle, tensions the shoulder straps to provide perfect lift.

V-shaped crotch strap
The NX Series harness is equipped with totally new V shaped crotch strap.
The V shape is more comfortable, eliminating often uncomfortable single strap. By spreading the load in and out of the water, the V strap is a real step change forward. Long scooters become a pleasure and even large capacity twinsets and multiple stages will not become unstable.

LESS effort MORE comfort and safety
The tight to the tank streamlining makes buoyancy control more precise. The wing shape adds stability due to reduced air migration and attention to the ideal balance for easy expert trim.
When diving in currents you want to reduce drag for ease of finning. When exploring swim throughs in a wreck or reef you want to be free of entanglement. This is where you will truly value the NX ZEN’s design.

Less is more
The ZEN wing is deliberately narrow so that it does not protrude from the side of your tank. This brings advantages in enhancing your buoyancy control, in reducing any entanglement hazards and in significantly reducing drag. As we reduce drag we usually improve our gas consumption, enabling longer and safer dives.
ZEN wing provides 19kg of lift, while its size is comparable to classic wings with 17kg of lift.

Smaller upper wing section
The compact engineering of the NX series inflator has allowed a reduction in the required size of the upper part of the wing. This results in a position at the surface that lifts you high out of the water and ensures lift is in the right place when submarged.

Precise control of gas movement
Traditional inflation systems are mounted on the side, so that as gas is injected it can disturb trim if you are in a good flat position.
The compact nature of the NX series adapter allows it to be placed dead centre, eliminating unwanted gas movement. Air is added and is immediately distributed equally down both sides of the wing, leaving you in perfect trim.

FINALLY – AN ERGONOMIC BACKPLATE
NX Series plateClassic backplate.
The classic backplates’ design history dates back to what could be cut out of an old road sign. For the first time since then we have looked properly at the ergonomics and anatomy of a diver’s back. Our redesign has created a plate that is better in every respect.
Enlarging the upper part of the backplate has achieved better weight distribution during the dive and removes load from the lumbar region. The lower plate design spreads the load comfortably, safely allowing for the optimal attachment of weight pockets and accessories.
The new NX Series backplate is comfortable, stable and protective of your back.

Perfect 3D mesh pad in standard
ZEN, as with any other set from the NX Series is equipped with XDEEP’s perfect 3D Mesh lining.
This soft but non compressive pad adds to your comfort, whether in board shorts or drysuit. It helps prevent any small movement of the back plate against your back, adding to stability and security.
The 3D Mesh material does not need any additional lead due to the smart materials technology that allow easy water penetration and drainage.

V-shaped crotch strap
The NX Series harness is equipped with totally new V shaped crotch strap. The V shape is more comfortable, eliminating the single strap design running directly between the legs. Whether walking with your gear to jump in or scootering around a reef, you will feel the very direct benefit.

EASIER TO PUT ON AND TAKE OFF
The backplate design has resulted in major improvements in donning and doffing the system.
When the harness is unfastened, the shoulder straps are 20% longer than in a classic harness. This creates more room even if you have restricted movement in the shoulders. Tightening the buckle of the waist strap pulls the shoulder straps snugly down, perfectly tensioning the harness fit to your body. No need to adjust for changes from wetsuit to drysuit. The whole system is comfortably held closer to your body stabilising the entire scuba unit.

Modular weight system
To truly be at one with your equipment, your weight system must be perfectly balanced, be secure and easy to configure and use. The modular weight system in the NX series means you can confine your weight belt to history.
Tailor your weight distribution for the diving you are doing. From a couple of kilos needed in the warm sun, to the extra lead needed in cold water diving, you can select the pockets that best suit your needs.

A Foot pocket that fits like a glove.
Our designers spent a long time profiling the most common drysuit and rock boots currently in use, ensuring that the foot pocket is designed to offer great fit, coupled with security and a great ‘feel’, allowing the diver to use the smallest foot movements to position the fin tip and blade exactly where needed.

Two phase moulding for greater comfort.
Our understanding of materials technology has allowed us to break away from the old style, albeit iconic 100% rubber mouldings and to deliver a softer material in the entry part of the foot pocket. This enhances feel and thereby control. In addition it is more comfortable, whether on a long swim or against a tough current.

Modern material technology unaffected by the temperature.
Rubber fins in warm water or left in the sun can soften, immersed in cold they will stiffen up. You may as well be diving different fins! By using an advanced techno-polymer instead of rubber, whatever the temperature the EX1 fins will give you the same familiar feel throughout the dive.

The NX SERIES has proven that you can take tradition and by applying innovation to the design and materials, create something better, unique and special. Bolt snaps, as would a backplate seem to be pretty resistant to evolution, yet the NX SERIES backplate has revolutionized traditional approaches. Now the NX SERIES bolt snap breaks a 60-year stalemate in design and greatly improves ease of use and practical application. Tradition, innovated.

No loss of dexterity in any glove system.
We should never have to make choices that compromise our diving. Dry gloves and neoprene mitts give us warm hands but create difficulty operating clips and smaller controls. Cold hands can ruin the enjoyment of a dive.
The NX SERIES bolt snap range, whether double ender or the smallest clip can easily be handled in the thickest dry glove systems, eliminating the need to compromise.

Easy to Open.
A common reason for a missed clip is that the gate is hard to fully open on traditional bolt snaps. The NX trigger is large, smooth and easy to operate making a full opening simple.
At the same time the NX SERIES has significant anti entanglement properties. Smaller triggers often have a hook that line can easily catch in, the NX SERIES trigger shrugs off line traps without fuss.
The finger support provides stability and control, increasing the accuracy of the clip.

Easy to Clip.
Attention to detail can solve some big issues. For example, just by ensuring the NX boltsnap head is appropriately rounded and contoured, by thinking carefully about optimizing the hook shape, clipping into D rings becomes so much easier.

An eye for detail.
One size does not fit all. The eye on the NX SERIES bolt snaps is perfectly customized for the intended use.

Off-center swivel.
Using an off-centre swivel creates many advantages. The position of the hand when your finger is through the bolt snap eye is optimized, stage and sidemount cylinders become easier to mount and remove and it allows for a lighter weight eye.

Compact eye.
On smaller snaps, the small and tidy eye is exactly what is needed for attaching to long hoses, lights, and other accessories without wasting any space. The clipped item stays tighter to the diver and it is easier to keep the bolt snap orientation exactly as desired.

Materials technology is a critical component in the NX SERIES, it both facilitates and enhances the design elements. In the NX bolt snaps not just the clip, but the spring, gate and all parts of the NX SERIES are made from the highest quality AISI 316 stainless steel.

Bolt snaps, as would a backplate seem to be pretty resistant to evolution, yet the NX SERIES backplate has revolutionized traditional approaches.
